40% OF GLOBAL EMISSIONS COMES FROM THE BUILT ENVIRONMENT
World Green Building Council: Global Status Report 2017
Sustainable Building Design
To ensure global warming is kept below 1.5K, global net carbon emissions must reduce by around 50% by 2030 and be zero by 2050. We promote sustainable low carbon design solutions across all aspects of our work, and we aim to minimise the environmental impact of our buildings. We agree with the Client the strategic sustainable and environmental objectives that are used as a basis to develop and shape the building and building services design with the aim of delivering Net Zero Carbon.
Lighting Design
Working closely with architects throughout the design process allows us to develop bespoke lighting design solutions to meet the functional and aethestic aspect of each project. Using state of the art lighting and lamp technology alongside intelligent control systems, we can dramatically reduce the energy use, running costs and carbon emissions associated with a buildings artificial lighting system.
Building Information Modelling (BIM)
We recognise the importance and the advancement of building information modelling (BIM) within our industry and we work alongside our Clients and design teams to agree BIM objectives on each project. Where BIM is not a project requirement, we use a combination of both 2D and 3D CAD software packages to ensure that building and building services coordination has been carried out.
MEP Professional Services
Our team of Chartered Engineers are able to provide the following professional services in addition to our core services: Planning submission reports (services strategy, external lighting, chimney height assessment, renewables/LZC, sustainability, commercial kitchen extraction assessment), BREEAM Accredited Professional (AP) consultancy, Daylighting analysis, Project management, Commissioning management, Cost planning and value engineering plus Site inspections and condition surveys.
