The Former General Post Office building is a Grade 2 listed neo-renaissance building set across 3 storeys above a basement level, and its facade is a key heritage asset. The Edward Street Sorting Office is a locally listed structure built as a later addition to the Post Office complex. Clark Degnan have been initially appointed to develop the RIBA Stage 2 MEP design to facilitate the planning application process.
