Walworth Town Hall, London
The Grade 2 listed building on Walworth Road, London is undergoing a major renovation to redevelop and reinvent the building to provide a dynamic cultural community and workspace hub. The building will house a community hub that can host events, seminars and leisure activities for the local community, and workspaces for independent creatives. The new central atrium will provide collision and collaboration space, and alongside a new café and co-working space to anchor the building to its surroundings. The building aims to deliver high levels of sustainable design and is predominantly heated by several VRF systems utilising low carbon heat pump technology and is largely naturally ventilated, with ancillary areas served by Mechanical Ventilation Heat Recovery systems. CDL were appointed to deliver the MEP Stage 4B & 5 design on behalf of the MEP contractors. The project is due to complete in 2024.
